Soon Sakesar
Sakesar is the highest mountain in the Salt Range in Punjab Pakistan. Its height is 1,525m It lies on the outer fringes of the Soon Valley in Khushab District in the Punjab Province. The name reflects the imposing presence of the mountain in the region. A small village named Sakesar is named after this famous mountain peak. Sakesar is the mountain after Murree in Punjab province where it snows in winter. Uchhali Lake is just below it. It is a good picnic spot and moderately tough walking point. HUNZA - BALTISTAN CHEERY BLOSSOM TOUR 2025 Hunza is the most visited valley of Pakistan, because it is surrounded with the beautiful rugged and snow capped mountains. Hunza is a small town on Karakorum Highway that is at distance of 100 km from Gilgit. The Hunza peak is 7000 - 800 feet high and it is the first stop if you are entering Pakistan from China. The central part of Hunza is also known as Karimabad and is basically town of 6 villages. If you come from Gilgit on the main Karakorum highway, the first main village is Aliabad. Baltistan is known as the "Tibet -e- Khurd" or little Tibet since its life style reflects that of the roof of the world and land of Lamas. It borders on the Chinese province of Sinkiang and Indian occupied Kashmir. The tourist season is from April to October. The maximum temperature is 27oC and the minimum is 8oC. Apart from its incomparable cluster of mountain peaks and Glaciers Baltistan's five valleys Shigar, Skardu, Khaplu, Rondu and Kharmang are noted for their Luscious peaches, apricots, apples and pears. Shigar valley, 32 kms by jeep from Skardu is the gateway to the mountain peaks of the Karakoram. Skardu has a historic fort known as Kharpocho Fort. It was constructed by Ali Sher Khan Anchan who ruled from Ladakh to Chitral till the end of the 16th century. The two lakes - Kachura lake 29 km. and Sadpara lake 8 km. from Skardu - are ideal for fishing.
